    This family-owned local spot is the BEST place to go for a Chicken Parm Sub.  I was going to say best "in the Boston area"...  But I think I'll just leave it as is - BEST place to get a Chicken Parm - ANYWHERE!  It's overflowing with homemade chicken cutlets that are fried to perfection, with delicious sauce and provolone + Parmesan cheese.  The ultimate comfort food.  A large (12") will cost you under $9 and it's definitely enough for two lunch-sized meals.  I'm already looking forward to finishing the other half of the one I just ate for lunch.

    The Italian & Eggplant Parm subs are also up there among the best I've ever had.  

    Haven't tried the pizza or any of the other dinners, and to be honest I probably won't because their sub game is just that good.

    I can see from the reviews that some people were mad because their expectations were different than what this place is. It is a tiny italian shop and the kitchen has been in constant use for probably 50 years. Yes there is dirt. No, it's not dirty food. Yes the family hangs out there. No, their cold cuts are not premium. And yes, the food is simple with simple flavors. If you are going to buy Home style Italian food - even in the North End - don't expect micro-celery and Iberico ham. The food here is fine. The people are nice... but no, they are not going to bow down and praise you, oh royal customer!

    I give Emilio's 3 stars because it is a 3-star restaurant. Its prices are 3-star prices. I eat there when I want a 3-star experience at a 3-star price.

    Hope this is helpful and makes some sense out of the fact that it seems all the reviews are either 5 stars or 1 Star.

    This place is such a find!! The chicken cutlet subs are absolutely amazing. The owners were wicked friendly. Will definitely stop by next time I'm in the area.

    Had a cheeseburger dinner there, it was good, no one was in there & the owner was sitting in at a table talking to his family, I was saying myself, why are they not wiping down tables or sweeping floor because the place was dirty inside, just wanted to eat my burger & leave. It look germ infested inside. Not sure if I would go there again due to sanitation issues.
